Laying difficult-to-access grease nipples on construction machines and vehicles, for example, at a central, easily accessible point is a cost-effective alternative to automatic centralized lubrication systems. However, lubrication nipple extensions should only be used in applications with little to lubricate friction points, since each lubrication nipple in the classic version has to be controlled individually, which means a considerable amount of time is required if there are a large number of lubrication points. Automatic lubrication should also be used for areas that need to be lubricated frequently.
The classic lubrication nipple extension consists of a nipple block / metering device manifold with T-holes and connection options according to the number of lubrication points, main lines (poly tube Ø 6x1.5mm with a lubrication line length of max. 1 meter or high-pressure hose / steel tube with line lengths >1m), as well as the corresponding screw connections together.
Another variant of the lubrication nipple extension consists of a progressive metering device in disk or block design with an inlet into which the lubrication nipple is screwed and according to the number of lubrication points (max. 20 depending on the metering device type) of lubricant outlets for the lubrication lines. Here too, a central, easy-to-reach assembly location is selected for the progressive metering device.
The advantage of this variant is that only one grease nipple has to be controlled with the manual grease gun. Due to the piston function inside the metering device, however, considerably more strokes are required to reach each lubrication point.
